Why A.O. Smith for commercial buildings
A.O. Smith has manufactured commercial water heaters for roughly a century, and its commercial catalogue covers nearly every load: standard and high-recovery gas storage units, condensing high-efficiency models, heavy-duty electric heaters, tankless systems, heat-pump units and large storage tanks. That breadth is why we reach for it so often: a restaurant, a hotel and a hospital can each get a unit designed for their demand from one manufacturer.
A.O. Smith systems we install
- Commercial gas storage water heaters, including condensing high-efficiency models.
- Commercial electric water heaters for buildings without gas.
- Commercial tankless and hybrid systems.
- Storage tanks and boiler-fed domestic hot water systems.
Service and warranty
Our plumbers are trained on A.O. Smith commercial equipment and carry common parts. We register your warranty at installation and keep the maintenance records that warranty claims require. Ask us for the specific warranty terms of the unit we propose for your building.
Frequently asked questions
Do you carry A.O. Smith commercial parts?
We stock common service parts for the units we install most often and can source the rest quickly through our distributor.
A.O. Smith or State: which should I choose?
They are sister brands with overlapping commercial lines. We recommend based on the model that best fits your load, fuel, venting and budget rather than the badge.

Joe Oliveira stopped by my home, took time to understand the problem that I was having with the unit, went back and discussed the issue with his team of experts and had a detailed work order sent to me with in a day. … Based on the experience that I have had with Progressive Plumbing, Heating & Air, Electrical, I will HIGHLY recommend them for HVAC install and maintenance.
