Boilers that heat the building
This page covers boilers used for space heating: hot water sent to air handling units, fan coils, baseboard, radiant floors and snow-melt systems. Boilers that make domestic hot water for taps and showers are handled by our plumbing division on the commercial hot water boilers page. Many buildings have both, and one Progressive maintenance agreement can cover both.
What Progressive does
- Boiler replacement and new installation, including condensing high-efficiency boilers that cut gas use.
- Pumps, expansion tanks, controls, zone valves and hydronic piping.
- 24/7 repair, so a boiler failure in January does not close the building.
- Maintenance agreements with combustion analysis, safety and control checks, water treatment and inspection records.
Why one contractor matters
A boiler replacement touches gas piping, venting, electrical, controls and the plumbing around it. Progressive is licensed for plumbing, HVAC and electrical, so the whole job is one crew and one point of contact.
Frequently asked questions
Should I replace my boiler with a condensing model?
If the system can run at lower return water temperatures, a condensing boiler saves significant fuel. We evaluate the distribution system and give you the numbers before recommending.
Do you service boilers you did not install?
Yes. We repair and maintain most commercial boiler brands.

Joe Oliveira stopped by my home, took time to understand the problem that I was having with the unit, went back and discussed the issue with his team of experts and had a detailed work order sent to me with in a day. … Based on the experience that I have had with Progressive Plumbing, Heating & Air, Electrical, I will HIGHLY recommend them for HVAC install and maintenance.
