## UV Water Purification Systems for Home

UV water purification systems are a great tool in the defense of your home’s water against dangerous bacteria. Simple and effective, UV light has long been used to sterilize water. You too can experience purified water by giving a call to Progressive Plumbing, Heating & Air, Electrical.

Our water filtration experts are very familiar with the Raleigh area and know what exactly what water purification systems people are looking for—that’s why we recommend UV water purification as part of a complete home water filtration strategy.

Though it is highly effective at killing microorganisms in water, UV water purification systems do not filter drinking water. We suggest you ask your Progressive water filtration technician about [water softeners](/plumbing/water-filtration/water-softeners) and [reverse osmosis water filters](/plumbing/water-filtration/reverse-osmosis) for the elimination of dissolved metals and sediment in your water.

## Advantages of Using a UV Water Purifier

UV light has long been used to sterilize water, air, and medical/lab equipment. It is extremely useful and offers many advantages that homeowners have come to recognize. Progressive encourages the use of a UV water purifier in your home for the following reasons:

- UV water purification uses no chemicals
- Properly-installed UV water purifiers have been proven to kill 99.9% of bacteria
- Little maintenance is required

For many homeowners, installation of a UV water purification system may sound like a complicated process. For Progressive, this is not the case. In most instances, we can dispatch one of our water filtration technicians to your home and have the UV water purifier installed fairly quickly.

When used in conjunction with a reverse osmosis water filter, UV purifiers are extremely effective and are absolutely worth the affordable cost. To have one installed in your home, or for questions concerning our products, call us in Raleigh at (919) 325-0180 or in Durham at (919) 682-4262.
